Whilst Portberry Crafts is on lockdown, I am continuing to play with new class ideas.
Like many of you, I am still in shock and adjusting to lockdown. But I am trying to use the extra time I am gaining from working at home to be creative and test out ideas for classes.
Powertex do a range of MDF plaques which I have played with before but have absolutely fallen in love with since lockdown.
For this triptic I wanted to do something different with a colour combination I wouldn’t usually use, but I started with the familiar EasyStructure to give myself a base. To this I added Corregated Card, Bamboo Skewers and a layer of single ply napkins to add further texture and bring the base together.
I’ll be honest, it’s red because i have more bottles of that then any other colour (be prepared for lots of red this lockdown). The embellishments are made from black and ivory Stone Art and plaster. All were painted red before I coloured them.
Once I had finished the base, I coloured the elements in Pearl Red, Black Magic, Limoncello Gold and White.
To bring the whole project I dried brush the whole project without Rich Gold and focused on EasyStructure, the peaks of the Corrugated Card and the Bamboo Sticks.
What are you making this lockdown?
