Inspiration – Easter Wreath

Based on our popular Christmas Wreath class, I wanted to create something bright for this Easter.

The last week has turned us all upside down and I to escape from the news I’ve been focusing on something to brighten up the door for Easter.

I wanted it full of spring images, including the Powertex March theme of bees.

This wreath is based on my popular wreath class which we will be running again in November. I love wrapping the Wreath in lots of lace and twine to add texture.

In line with my new year’s challenge to be more “Tracey Evans” and not be scared of adding colour I built up three layers, starting with acrylic inks.

At this stage I was joined by one of my stay at home buddies.

The next layer was acrylic paint in some areas and then pearl pigments. As I had used inks and paints, i cover the whole wreath with a layer of varnish.

The varnish is a great way of preserving some of the detail in the Acrylic Ink spray which adds a hint of April showers.

I’d love to see what you are creating.
