Welcome to Portberry Crafts

Welcome to Portberry Crafts

Hello lovely you – thank you for joining us at Portberry Crafts, delivering Powertex Mixed Media classes in the West Country. For those of you who haven’t met me, my name is Emma Wharram and I am qualified to teach all Powertex Products including Fabric Sculpting, Stone Art, Mixed Media and 3D Flex.

Our Ethos is to provide good green fun at Portberry Crafts allowing you the space, tools, skills and materials to be the best creative you that you can be whilst having fun and in many cases upcycling everyday items.

What we provide
We will provide all the equipment and materials that you need (and more!) to complete your project as well as protective wear and gloves. We also provide hot drinks, bottled water and snacks (including fresh fruit) during the class. If you have booked one of our longer 5 hr classes we will provide a wider range of food to keep you going.

You will be offered drinks on arrival and the project has a break in the middle to allow you all stretch your legs and re-charge. You may also purchase any of the Powertex products we have in stock.

Where are we based
We work from a purpose built workshop in Severn Beach, Bristol. Postal Address – 20 Prospect Road, Severn Beach Bristol BS35 4QB. Our room is on the ground floor and there is a single small step into the house. There is parking on the street, which is a quiet residential cul de sac. The bathroom is on the first floor at the top of the stairs. If you get lost please ring me on 07985 655024 and we can help you

COVID Safe
Please do not attend if you are displaying any of the symptoms of COVID, you will be able to rebook at your leisure and we can provide a mask if you feel safer that way but this is not essential. I am fully vaccinated. The room and bathroom will be cleaned before and after your attendance.

Working with Powertex
Powertex sticks to many things including metals, although we provide gloves you may wish to take off any jewellery or rings before starting. If you do get Powertex on your jewellery, washing it off immediately before it dries.

Powertex is a fabric hardener and does stick to clothes so wear something old to our classes, my clothes come in two groups, those with Powertex on and those that don’t have Powertex on… yet!

Finally, I just want to thank you again for coming to our classes and I hope you will have an amazing time
