In our monthly Hints and Tip Column, we look at embossing folders.

The key to using 2D/Canvas bases for mixed media and Powertex projects is to build up layers of texture.

One way of doing this, without adding bulk is to use card which has been embossed.

I have a stash of card off cuts with different patterns to add to projects. This is a great way of also using your off cuts.

I fix it to projects by a thin layer of Powertex below and onto of a project. Keep the layers thin so you don’t cover any of design.

Once you have finished your design, dry brush as normal to bring out the design

Next month, we will be looking at 3D embossing folders, especially the new Sizxix Impressionlets which act as die cut and embossing folders.
