I am still playing with my canvas from last week.

My first job was to spritz the stone art. I usually reach for Blue or Green Bister so I thought I would go for the original Patina Brown Bister, only to find I’m on my last bottle. So that’s an order which needs to go in.
I don’t tend to use Brown Bister as I like grey/blue stone art with a hint of green for weathering. But there is a lot of potential with the warm pigments, those that have a yellow base.

Although I haven’t “knocked back” or toned down the brown bister, I thought using Bronze Powertex straight out of the bottle because I felt it would be too dark. So I decided to lighten it.

I know a lot of people have complained that the new Waterproof Bronze Powertex is a lot darker than before but you can lighten it.
As Bronze has a warm base, I lighten it with Ivory and not white as I think you get a better colour. Because I wanted a much lighter beige colour, I mixed approximately 8 parts Ivory to 2 parts Bronze to get a warm coffee latte colour.

When mixing Powertex Colours together, remember a lot of Powertex Colours get darker as they dry and its hard to replicate the exact colour, so mix it into a container with a line so you can use the rest to make clay or a small project.
So your challenge this week is to make a unique Powertex colour to play with.
What will you create?
