Our Penultimate Day of celebrating the Blues of Powertex. Having looked at Blue Powertex, Blue Pigments, Blue Inks we are now looking at Blue Liquid Power Sprays. We had range of Liquid Power Spritz bottles behind Box 14 of ur Advent Calendar this year

Liquid Power is a Liquid based pigment, which needs to be mixed with a water based binder to make it permanent.
This is what sets pigments apart from paint, paints are the finished product as have a binder mixed in (such as the acrylic Inks and paints you can buy from Powertex), where as pigments don’t.
Binders available from Powertex UK include
- Powertex itself – you can mix it into Powertex to make a unique colour or spray it on top of wet Powertex.
- Easy Varnish
- Easy Coat
- PowerWax
- Texture Pastes including EasyStructure
- Powerfix (a powder binder which can be added to all Powertex Pigments to make coloured varnishes, which you can spray…. amazing stuff.
So what’s the point of using Liquid Power compared with Acrylic Inks fo example. Well, Liquid Power has some distinct properties which Acrylic Inks don’t.

Firstly you can mix it into EasyStructure with out watering down the product which allows you to add colour texture. The lighter areas here have blue EasyStructure sponged onto the background to give additional texture
Secondly if you spray it into Wet Powertex and then blast it with a hair dryer, it cracks.
Its semi translucent which makes it easier to blend and build up colours.
For added protection we advise you to add a layer of varnish when its dry, especiallyif going outside… unless you have used Powerfix or Easy Varnish as your binder.
Liquid Power is another example of how you can achieve more with Powertex products.
What have you made with Liquid Power?
