As always Houston the Portberry Crafts Elf is ready and waiting to help you through Advent by showcasing the Powertex UK Delux Advent Calendar.

So let’s see what’s in box number 1…

Now Houston loves a sparkly pigment and is not disappointed as we have a full pot of Colortricx Flash Blue.

If you haven’t used Flash Blue, it’s a beautiful mid blue, packed with a lot of Sparkle.

Colortricx Pigments come from Powertex themselves and can be mixed with Powertex products such as Easy Varnish or transparentPowertex to make a metallic paint or, with Powerwax to make a custom wax or you can blend pigments together to make a customised colour.

One of the things I love about Flash Blue is it goes well with lots of other Powertex Pigments or Secret Art Loft Pigments too, including Blue Curacao, Blue Blizzard, Ultramarine and Deep Blue as shown here.

Blue is opposite Orange on the colour wheel (known as it’s complementary colour) and its analogue colours are green and purple (those that are next to it on the colour wheel). Try combining blue with one of these colours. It is a cool colour so will go well with Silver but Gold will really stand out, especially an Orange Gold such as Copper or Rich Gold.
