This year Powertex UK launched its first Luxury Advent Calendar, packed with 24 days of goodies (and yes I have been good and I have not opened any of the boxes).

Helping me with the unboxing is Houston the Elf. So as I am already a day late, what is in Day One?

It is a full size pot of PowerPearl Pigment. Which I love as it turns any of the Powertex Matt Colours into a Pearlized Powerhouse. This one pot doubles what you can do with any of the Powertex Pigment Powders you have.

I used the PowerPearl on my Christmas Wreath this year, I mixed it with Ultramarine pigment to lighten the background of the wreath after the initial coat of Ultramarine giving the whole of the background a lift and sparkle. I added it to white to colour the snowflake circle before adding a bit of copper and Olive Green Pearl Pigment to bring out the accents and to give it a slighly shabby chic feel.
